I think I’m starting to like the Sport Trac.
Fuck you kinja. When is the image upload/linking going to be functional again?

Seems to have worked. I can see your blue egg with large tires.

I’ve always liked the Sport Trac, not sure why they got the badish reputation like the did.

I like the first gen, but I like the second gen better, because V8.

An LS isn’t a big block...

you should see the asking prices for them. they’re almost as insane as late model Ranger.

Because they have a useless bed, like most trucks do these days. The Sport Tracks problem was timing, nobody wanted a crew cab short-bed anything, unlike today.

You needed that stick to be able to get that 210hp v6 up to speed (only offered on 1st gen with the only engine offer 4.0l v6). And unless your off-roading daily or a 5spd cummins, who wants a stick in a truck?
Big block LS over the 2nd gen modular 4.6l V8 any day. Though I think the Avalanche sport edition was the z66 which didnt actually change much other than a “sportier” suspension. Or the last year the Black Diamond

I agree about the timing, but it’s Fords equivalent of the Ridgeline, and most people seem to love those.

It was a crew-cab Ranger, not that much like a Ridgeline. Also, I’ll take your word for it that people like them, just not enough to actually buy one.

I'm fond of them because they are cheap but they are still basically an explorer. However I do like the Adrenaline model.

Same concept of a utility type truck, four doors, short bed, is what I was getting at. They’re obviously built very differently.
In general if you mention the Ridgeline, you get a generally positive response, but when you mention the Sport Trac, it’s “eeewww, Sport Trac”, I think the Sport Trac deserves better than that.

You are correct there are no true LS big blocks but for some reason I have always heard people refer it as the LS big block. After digging (which i probably should have) its the 454 stroked 9.4mm with an LS style intake. So just an updated Vortec 7.4L
